Dr Jeff Chang Bsc(Med) MBBS PhD FRACP

Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist

Dr Jeff Chang is a gastroenterologist who graduated from UNSW Sydney and completed his physician training in at Gosford and Concord hospitals. He pursued further training as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh, UK before returning to Australia to complete a further 6-month IBD fellowship. Post fellowship, he embarked on further research and was awarded a PhD in examining intestinal permeability via confocal endomicroscopy in inflammatory bowel disease from UNSW Sydney. During this period, he was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship in 2014 and Postgraduate Research Student Support (PRSS UNSW) in 2015.

 

Dr Chang has interests in inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease (viral hepatitis, fatty liver, liver cancer), reflux disease and cancer surveillance. He currently holds staff specialist appointments at Nepean Hospital (admission / outpatient/ procedural rights) and Concord Hospital (liver clinics only) and is a visiting medical officer at Macquarie University Hospital privately. He is bilingual (English and Mandarin) and is happy to be contacted for urgent referrals or just to give an opinion.
